Hey all! I hope someone here can maybe help me find something and no, it is not a camping pass.

I've attended the festival every year of my life and I don't want to break the streak now, especially when I've already told my volunteer crew chief I'll be there. Trouble is, I moved from Winnipeg to Toronto for grad school last summer, so I'm far away and kinda broke.

I need a ride from the Toronto region (precise location negotiable) to Winnipeg (Kenora's good too) sometime BEFORE July 8th but AFTER July 1st, and a ride back from Winnipeg (or Kenora or wherever) to Toronto (or vicinity) after the festival wraps July 12th. Ideally I'd like a few days before or after to visit family and friends.

Can anybody help me with either trip? I won't have much luggage, I'll pay my share of gas and I can bring you muffins or other snacks too. Non-smoker carmates preferred. I've already posted a rideshare ad on Craigslist but I thought I might have more luck here.

Camping passes. Jun. 8th, 2009 @ 09:45 am
fantastilicious
An acquaintance had purchased two extra camping passes and agreed that my boyfriend and I would get them. While I was away for work, the passes sold out. This girl realized she could make over $200 profit on each of those two camping passes. She is now holding those camping passes for roughly $250 each. Wow. This is what folk fest is about, isn't it? Profit.

So. Of course we're willing to pay extra as a kind of "stupid tax" for not squirreling away money to be able to afford the tickets in early May (my job started again in early May, and I was just waiting on that first paycheque). We're veteran folk festers that just aren't used to watching camping passes get snatched up so quickly. I know many people bought a few extra camping passes in hopes of making the kind of money this girl is expecting. It's kind of sad, and definitely not in the spirit of the festival.. But I guess that's life.

I'll start off the season of questions on the same topic here in the folk fest community. Anyone have two (or even one) camping passes available? Contact kate@cherrystems.com. I'll pay you in dollars and any baked goods you desire.

Hi Folks,

So it seems that camping passes are already sold out for folk fest. Is anyone by chance selling theirs?

» Seeking open stage
Hey there.
This really isn't about the Winnipeg Folk Festival but I figured that people in here would have the information I seek.

I'll be in Winnipeg for about a week over the Christmas holidays and am hoping to get out to an open stage or two in the area. Does anybody have any suggestions?

Thankee thankee thankee!

» Really, really need (want) a camping pass!
I am looking for a camping pass for the loud campground. I organized a group of five friends, and we are one pass short!

I will buy it with a 4-day festival ticket if need be. I know of a few other friends looking for camping, so I will happily pick up extra camping passes if you have them, if that's more convenient for you.

If anyone can help, please send me an email: jeremydubya@yahoo.com. I will be up late and wake early, and I will meet you anywhere within the city as fast as I can drive there!
» Food.
What kind of food do you people bring to the festival?

I usually end up living off of granola bars and festival food. I am really having trouble thinking of foods that I do not have to cook or keep refridgerated.

So far, I have thought of:
-trail mix
-apple sauce
-fruit in general
-granola bars
-beef jerky

I appreciate any suggestions. :) And Happy Folk Fest!
» why not, right?
This is me trying anything I possibly can to get a camping pass. The one I had being held for me that I was going to pick up today was ~magically sold~ and blah blah blah.

If you have one and you've somehow stayed away from the internets long enough not to have sold it yet, I really want/need it.
Email me. stefinmotion@hotmail.com
I don't know.
